Happy Valentine's Day, everyone! This has always been one of my favorite holidays, regardless of whether or not I happen to be in a relationship. For much of my life I've considered myself to be a relentless cheerleader for love. Even when - in return - it performs any number of Mortal Kombat-style fatalities on my optimistic (yet fragile) heart.

I'm very fortunate to be able to surround myself with so much love in my life, and I vowed many moons ago to never take that for granted. While the traditional relationship may be the most common way to celebrate V-Day, an expression of love extends so much further.

I have to take this opportunity to thank two incredibly important groups of people: My family - for teaching me what love meant from the beginning, and my friends - for continuing to teach me every day the evolving and diverse nature of love.

Without love, we are nothing. So take today as a reminder to show the ones you care about what they mean to you...every day. Boyfriend/girlfriend, husband/wife, bestie or family member - it doesn't matter! Share the love, and you are guaranteed to find someone who will share it with you in return. XOXO!
